Tall Cedar House Plan Tour

Tall Cedar House Plan Tour

We have another house tour to share! We hope that these tours inspire your dream home build, and provide insight into what a SketchPad house plan can be! This week, we highlight one of our most popular plans. The Tall Cedar floor plan is a transitional modern farmhouse design, with a beautiful open concept interior!

Tall Cedar House Plan Details

1930 Sq Ft | 3 Bedrooms | 2.5 Bathrooms | 2 Stall Garage

Exterior

Right away you are struck by the simple elegance of Tall Cedar's facade. The vertical shiplap cement board siding, blue-grey shutters, and metal covered front porch combine to create a visually subtle and cohesive look.

Kitchen

Inside, you find yourself immediately in the heart of the home. This floor plan shares some similarities with our Penwood plan, so if you are interested in a similar layout, that is an excellent one to check out!

The functional L-shape layout of this kitchen provides ample countertop space, and the perfect layout to provide flow throughout the space while cooking is in progress. The shaker style cabinetry is painted in a soft white and has black hardware. Stainless steel appliances and under mount apron sink help create a commercial grade look.

With a large window over the sink, you can see directly into the front yard and driveway, so you will never miss someone arriving. The four barstools at the island make this an easy space to hang out in with guests.

Dining Area

From the dining area, you can easily see how vast and open the main living area is in the Tall Cedar plan. Wide plank engineered hardwood floors ground the entire space, while lighting and area rugs are used to create visual breaks and highlight individual areas.

Living Room

The living room is grounded by an area rug, and strategically placed outlets in the floor provide power to table lamps. With tall glass slider doors to the lakeside porch, this space easily adapts and seamlessly connects to the outside.

Floating above the shiplap fireplace and cement surround, the flat screen TV is easily viewed from both the dining room and kitchen. Directly off the living room, you will find the private main floor master suite.

Main Floor Master Suite

In the master suite, you are met by beautiful large windows that take full advantage of the lakeside views. A transom window centered over the bed provides additional natural light while maintaining the owners' privacy.

In the master bathroom, you discover a double vanity with plenty of storage space. The large walk-in shower is easy to maintain, and its built-in shelving provides the necessary space for storage of shampoo and soap.

Upstairs Loft

Moving upstairs, you are greeted by vaulted ceilings. This helps create a wonderful family room loft space. Providing an additional yet private space to relax or entertain, this home is perfectly suited for the family.

Guest Bedroom

In the guest bedroom, an exposed wood beam anchors the space at the top of the vaulted ceiling. With a large window and plenty of space, this room is the perfect retreat for guests visiting you for a weekend on the water.

Bunk Room

A bunk room is every child's dream. With room for four, this one boosts the livability factor of this home by ten! The built-in ladder helps keep this room accessible no matter the age of your guests.

Back Porch

Once outside on the covered lakeside porch, you see the true beauty and function of this home. The large glass sliders provide access to the main living areas. An outdoor shower and direct access to the garage make this backyard function flawlessly. A lot of thought and effort has gone into making this plan beautiful and functional.
